Fourth of July Celebrations
Centennial Olympic Park
This is the big one, especially now that Lenox Mall has discontinued it’s annual fireworks display. In fact, it’s said to be the largest fireworks display in the entire Southeast. The park gates will open at 7 p.m. on July 4th, 2019. There will be several food trucks on site. Deejay Yvonne Monet will start spinning the tunes around 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks are set for 9:45 p.m. FREE to attend. Click the link for details on parking and getting there on MARTA.

Fireworks in the Fourth Ward
On July 4, 2019, from 5 to 11 p.m. you can enjoy an intown celebration at Historic Fourth Ward Park. The event is FREE and open to the public. There will be over 20 food trucks, live bands, and fireworks coordinated to a music soundtrack. We’re told fireworks don’t have a set time, but will start some time after the sun sets (and sunset is at 8:51 p.m. on the Fourth, according to weather.com). Family-friendly and FREE.
Salute to the Red, White, & Blue in East Point
Thursday, July 4th, 2019. This is nearly an all-day event, because the East Point Summer Carnival opens at 2 p.m. on the Fourth of July. The celebration takes place on East Point Commons, across from the East Point MARTA station and City Hall. It includes live music and a food court. Fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m., and are synchronized to a musical score. This is the largest firework display in South Fulton County. The carnival, live concerts, and fireworks are FREE to attend, but you’ll need to buy tickets for carnival rides.
Decatur: Pied Piper Parade, Concert on the Square, and fireworks
Thursday, July 4th, 2019. Anyone can walk, bike, or skate in the community parade. Line-up at 5:30 p.m. and parade launch at 6 p.m. — click the link above for details. Concert on the Square at 7 p.m., around the community bandstand. Fireworks after dark. Admission is FREE.
Fireworks on the Fourth in East Atlanta Village
Thursday, July 4th at 9:30 p.m. in front of Holy Taco, 1314 Glenwood. This is a professional fireworks show that is sponsored by community association East Atlanta Strut, as well as several of the local businesses in and around EAV. The local eateries and bars will be open for business.
Watch Independence Day on Independence Day at the Plaza Theatre
This July 4th, the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta’s Poncey-Highland neighborhood is celebrating with a blast from the past! Remember when Will Smith punched out an alien and knocked it cold out? The Plaza is screening the ’90s film Independence Day on Thursday, July 4th at 7 p.m. You can buy tickets online in advancefor just $13.
Chamblee’s Fourth of July Celebration
Thursday, July 4th, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is a truly family-oriented celebration, taking place in Chamblee’s Keswick Park. It begins with a bike parade at 5 p.m., and kids are encouraged to decorate bikes, wagons, tricycles, whatever in a patriotic manner to participate. The park’s soccer fields will he home to FREE inflatables and bounce houses from 5 to 8 p.m. A concert and dance party starts at 6:30 p.m., with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Please click the link for event details and info on parking.

Fourth of July Celebrations OUTSIDE the Perimeter
Fantastic Fourth at Stone Mountain Park
This week-long celebration runs from July 1st to July 7th, 2019. The Lasershow begins at dusk, with fireworks directly afterward. Stone Mountain will put on the same spectacular display each night for that whole week. The Lasershow and fireworks are FREE, but you know the drill–you’ll have to pay $20 for parking, unless you’ve purchased a $40 parking pass. Red, White, and BOOM! celebration in downtown Norcross
Wednesday, July 3rd from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Come to this festive block party in downtown Norcross for food, fun, and fireworks! There will be assorted food vendors in addition to the local downtown merchants. Kids’ activities include face painting, bounce houses, and more. Some activities may have a slight fee, but admission to the event and fireworks are FREE.
Johns Creek Independence Day Celebration
Wednesday, July 3rd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Come to Newtown Park in Johns Creek for a food truck rally, FREE concert by the Crystal Clear Band, and spectacular fireworks at dusk.
Stars & Stripes Celebration at the Concourse (Sandy Springs)
July 4, 2019, FREE to attend. Complimentary free parking begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Concourse Parking Decks Five and Six. Live music at 7:30 by Bogey & The Viceroys. Fireworksbegin around 9:45. Bring a blanket or chairs and pack a picnic meal — but no outside alcohol is allowed. No pets, please.
Star Spangled Fourth at Mall of Georgia
This is nearly an all-day event on July 4, 2019, running from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. There’s a Kids Zone, live music from several bands, and fireworksscheduled to begin around 9:40 p.m. After the fireworks, you can stick around for an outdoor showing of Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Independence Day with the Braves
Thursday, July 4th, 2019. The Atlanta Braves are celebrating at SunTrust Park with pre-game activities that will include a video presentation, 13-gun salute, and a flyover. Our home team takes on the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:30 p.m., and the game will be followed by a spectacular fireworksdisplay that is synched to a soundtrack of patriotic music. Dunwoody Fourth of July Parade and Family Festival
Thursday, July 4, 2019. Parade starts at 9 a.m. and follows a route down Mount Vernon Rd from Jett Ferry to Dunwoody Village. The festival happens at Dunwoody Village from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring food, beer, music, and a kids zone with inflatables for children. FREE to attend.

Roswell’s 20th annual Fireworks Extravaganza
Thursday, July 4th. The event runs from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and takes place on the front lawn of Roswell High School. The Kids Zone opens at 5:30 p.m. — purchase tickets for activities, or buy a $20 wristband for unlimited access to giant inflatables, face painting, and more. Food trucks begin serving at 5:30; live music performances take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:30 p.m. but this may be adjusted earlier or later, depending on the weather. No pets. No alcohol.
Alpharetta’s “Celebrate Your Independence” festivities and fireworks
Thursday, July 4th. The event is scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. It takes place at Wills Park, at 11925 Wills Rd. There will be food vendors and live music onsite. You can bring a picnic, but no alcohol is allowed in the park, per city ordinance. Fireworks at approximately 9 p.m. Click the link for info on parking.
Marietta’s 4th in the Park celebration
Thursday, July 4th. This is an all-day event, beginning with a parade at 10 a.m. From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., there will be a summer festival, featuring food, arts & crafts vendors, a Kids Zone, and live concerts that run from noon to 9:30 p.m. The featured act is a Jimmy Buffet tribute show. Fireworks scheduled for 9:30, but may begin sooner or later, depending on weather conditions.
Acworth’s 4th of July concert and fireworks in Cauble Park
Thursday, July 4th. This is an all-day event, at Acworth Beach in Cauble Park. Food and drink vendors open for business at noon. The free concerts begin a 4 p.m. And there will be fireworks over Lake Acworth, beginning around 9:30 p.m. This is said to be one of the largest displays in Cobb County. If you don’t have a season parking pass to Cauble Park, you’ll need to park in downtown Acworth — click the title link for shuttle information.
Drag Racing and Fireworks at Atlanta Motor Speedway
Thursday, July 4th, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are just $10 at the gate for this July 4th Thursday night edition of Friday Night Drag Racing. Atlanta Motor Speedway is located in Hampton, Georgia, just 25 miles south of Atlanta. Come for the races; stay for the fireworks after dark.
